Two sampling stations are located in the Ukrainian part of the Danube: 50 – Reni and 51- Vilkovo.

The sampling at Vilkovo was conducted on 29th of June 2019. At this station a microplastics sampler was placed, and extracted during the event. The team of specialists included representatives from Ankara university (Turkey), the National Institute of Marine Research (Romania), State Environmental Agency (Republic of Serbia), Environmental Institute (Slovak Republic) jointly with national monitoring teams (Institute of Hydrobiology NASU, Ukrainian Hydrometerological Institute, and Danube Hydrometeorological Observatory).

Furthermore, both teams went on to conduct necessary researches at the Reni sampling site too.
